Super Edge-magic Labeling of Graphs: Deficiency and Maximality

A graph G of order p and size q is called super edge-magic if there exists a bijective function f from V(G) U E(G) to {1, 2, 3, ..., p+q} such that f(x) + f(xy) + f(y) is a constant for every edge xy∈E(G)xy \in E(G) and f(V(G)) = {1, 2, 3, ..., p}. The super edge-magic deficiency of a graph G is either the smallest nonnegative integer n such that G U nK_1 is super edge-magic or +~ if there exists no such integer n. In this paper, we study the super edge-magic deficiency of join product graphs. We found a lower bound of the super edge-magic deficiency of join product of any connected graph with isolated vertices and a better upper bound of the super edge-magic deficiency of join product of super edge-magic graphs with isolated vertices. Also, we provide constructions of some maximal graphs, ie. super edge-magic graphs with maximal number of edges

Objectives: In addition to the rise in obesity prevalence globally, morbidity due to nonalcoholic fatty liver disease is increasing. Primary modalities for preventing and managing this problem include dietary modification and improved physical activities. A daily diet with a low n-6:n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) ratio is suspected to contribute to ameliorating liver steatosis (LS). The present study was conducted to elucidate the effects of an n-6:n-3 PUFA ratio of 2:1 in alleviating LS.Methods: Twenty-four young obese women with LS were recruited from Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia. They were randomly allocated to an intervention or control group. Both groups were given linoleic acid:α-linolenic acid at ratios of 2035:970 and 240:100 g, respectively, for 12 weeks. Baseline and end-line data were obtained. All patients were advised to maintain their daily energy intake no more than 1500 kcal and to perform structured physical exercises once a week. Results: The intervention significantly decreased the body fat (body mass index, p=0.040; triglyceride, p=0.008) and serum tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) levels (p=0.002) and increased serum interleukin-10 (IL-10) levels (p=0.004). The severity of LS was reduced through the intervention (odds ratio=0.064; 95% confidence interval=0.013-0.310; p=0.001).Conclusion: An increased intake of 2:1 n-6:n-3 PUFA ratio alleviated LS, decreased body fat composition and serum TNF-α levels, and increased serum IL-10 levels

The purpose of this research is to understand and explain the discourse and practice of commodifying the usada Bali and negotiating the balian atmosphere in relation to economic interests. The method used is critical ethnography with qualitative analysis. This study found that the practice of commodifying usada Bali by balian was done by manipulating cultural capital, symbolic capital, and economic capital in the domains and dynamics of the habitus of usada Bali treatment to achieve economic goals. In medical practice, the balian people conduct negotiations in the gymnasium as a professional code of ethics in the midst of increasingly tighter competition in medical services. The findings of this study reflect the occurrence of mutual transformation in the practice of Balinese usada medicine due to the hegemony of modernity

The covid-19 pandemic has become a national disaster, therefore the participation of all parties is needed in efforts to handle this disaster. Traditional villages with their customary law have a strategic role in handling Covid-19 starting from managing their territory to distributing social assistance. Through traditional village institutions, the Bali Provincial Government uses local wisdom in increasing community participation and institutions to be actively involved in handling activities and overcoming the impact of Covid-19. This study aims to determine the role of customary law to support government policies in handling Covid-19 in Bali. This study is a descriptive study in which the method used is a normative legal research method, using a statutory approach, a historical approach, a conceptual approach, a philosophical approach, and a case approach. The legal materials used are primary legal materials, secondary materials, and non-legal materials. Based on the research conducted, it was found that Balinese customary law plays a role in supporting government policies in handling Covid-19 in Bali because it is in accordance with the philosophy and principles of customary law adopted by the Balinese indigenous people

The Balinese people know medicine whose formulas have been recorded in various manuscripts. A study was conducted to determine the utilization of Bali traditional medicines formula as an additional feed for Bali Cattle in the Wira Kencana Tani Farmers Group, Bukti village, Kubutambahan sub-district, Buleleng Regency. Twenty Bali Cattle with an average body weight of 140.28 ± 67.44 kg were used in this research for six months. This study was arranged in a completely randomized design with four treatments and five replications. The treatments were A : Bali Cattle fed Napier grass ad libitum, B : Napier grass + Prodef-1 as much 10 cc/head/day, C : Napier grass + Prodef-2 as much 10 cc/head/day and D : Napier grass + Prodef-3 as much 10 cc/head/day. The Parameters observed were average daily gain (ADG), feed intake, and feed conversion ratio. Business profits were calculate based on economic analysis, B/C ratio, and R/C ratio. This study suggests that the best average daily gain (ADG) in treatment D was 356.08 g/head/day. The results of the economic analysis also showed that Bali Cattle that received treatment D had the highest profit of Rp 1,120,000 with the B/C ratio of 0.02 and R/C ratio of 1.02.  It can be concluded that the Bali cattle that received Prodef 3 had the highest ADG and the highest profit

Simulated Annealing with Mutation Strategy for the Share-a-Ride Problem with Flexible Compartments

The Share-a-Ride Problem with Flexible Compartments (SARPFC) is an extension of the Share-a-Ride Problem (SARP) where both passenger and freight transport are serviced by a single taxi network. The aim of SARPFC is to increase profit by introducing flexible compartments into the SARP model. SARPFC allows taxis to adjust their compartment size within the lower and upper bounds while maintaining the same total capacity permitting them to service more parcels while simultaneously serving at most one passenger. The main contribution of this study is that we formulated a new mathematical model for the problem and proposed a new variant of the Simulated Annealing (SA) algorithm called Simulated Annealing with Mutation Strategy (SAMS) to solve SARPFC. The mutation strategy is an intensification approach to improve the solution based on slack time, which is activated in the later stage of the algorithm. The proposed SAMS was tested on SARP benchmark instances, and the result shows that it outperforms existing algorithms. Several computational studies have also been conducted on the SARPFC instances. The analysis of the effects of compartment size and the portion of package requests to the total profit showed that, on average, utilizing flexible compartments as in SARPFC brings in more profit than using a fixed-size compartment as in SARP

Adult necrotizing enterocolitis and non-occlusive mesenteric ischemia are rare causes of acute abdomen. Necrotising enterocolitis usually affects children and only few cases have been described in adults especially in geriatric patient. We report a rare case of acute necrotizing colitis of a 61 years old male patient. X-ray abdomen led to bowel dilatation. We performed emergency laparotomy under general anaesthesia and revealed that the dilatation of intestines and colon was caused by obstructive colitis due to sigmoid tumour. The digestive system was expanded proximally and the mucosae was seen turning black from the sigmoid colon to 80 cm proximal to the terminal ileum, from the findings we concluded that the patient was suffering from acute necrosis without significant vessel occlusion. The occlusion from the tumour may increase intraluminal pressure that affect colonic blood flow, and in closed-loop colonic obstruction without perforation, mucosal ischemia may be the primary event leading to massive colonic gangrene. Necrotising enterocolitis usually affects children and only few cases have been described in adults especially in geriatric patient. We performed complete colectomy with 90 cm resection of terminal ileum and ileostomy to remove the necrotic colon during surgery. Hartmann procedure was performed to distal part of rectum. The surgery was successful and patient was stable after the surgery
